Multi-award-winning musician, composer, world-class producer and songwriter, Nitin Sawhney is bringing his seminal album, Beyond Skin, to HOTA for an evening of music not to be missed.
Since the album’s 1999 release, Sawhney has continued his varied career, working across music, film, television, theatre and dance as both a producer and composer. Given he is the recipient of over twenty international awards and has scored more than 60 films and numerous TV series, as well has having produced over 20 studio albums, Sawhney truly is a musical enigma.
In addition to the recreation of his culturally iconic work, Beyond Skin, Sawhney will also be playing live tracks from his vast back catalogue of songs, alongside Are Durvesh on tabla, Anna Phoebe McElligott, as well as Nicki Wells and Eva Stone on vocals.
Listening to Sawhney’s music is like listening to a moment in time, in a different world. His music is not only at times political, but his lyrics and musical compositions are also at times, breath-taking. Described as a formidable polymath within the music and arts industry, Sawhney’s appearance at the HOTA is definitely one to catch.
