Paces to headline Gold Coast Music Awards 2020

Gold Coast Music Awards today announced leading local acts, PACES, Tijuana Cartel and Felicity Lawless to perform live at the illustrious beachfront event on 30 April.

Rolling out the red carpet on the iconic Surfers Paradise beachfront, the Gold Coast Music Awards is gearing up for its 6th annual event, which celebrates the City’s rising stars and sees 8,000+ people revel in a free outdoor concert on Surfers Paradise LIVE’s main festival stage.

“It’s been so awesome to see the Awards grow over the years,” says Gold Coast Music Awards director, Samantha Morris.

“Not just the community of musicians who are attending and being nominated, but also Gold Coasters coming along to watch our incredible local talent take that massive beachfront stage.”

The night will be headlined by award-winning producer and DJ, PACES, whose soaring chords, earth-shattering drops and wild live shows have earned much acclaim here and overseas.

“It’s been really inspiring to see the Gold Coast music scene flourish in recent years,” said PACES, whose performance on Triple J’s Like A Version with Australian music icon, Guy Sebastian, is one of the most popular in history.

“People used to have to move to Sydney or Melbourne to pursue a career in music but these days that’s not the case at all. Gold Coast musicians have been absolutely smashing it and achieving global success.

“I’m super stoked to be headlining the Awards and kicking off the Surfers Paradise LIVE festival, I’m really looking forward to discovering the next wave of Gold Coast musicians!”

Sharing the stage are energetic world musicians, Tijuana Cartel, who have built a reputation for making beats that span the globe, due in part to their constant international touring schedule, and fiery bohemian rocker, Felicity Lawless.

In recent years, the Gold Coast has seen national and international exports in ARIA-winning Amy Shark, Grammy nominee FISHER, and folk phenomenon Hollow Coves, proving the Coast to be a hotspot for creative gold.

Nominations for the sixth annual Gold Coast Music Awards are now open at and close 28 February. Finalists announced 2 April.

The Gold Coast Music Awards ceremony will take place Thursday 30 April on the beach at Surfers Paradise. Tickets on sale 5 March.

The Gold Coast Music Awards is proudly supported by City of Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise Alliance.
