Review: The Mark of Cain | Grey-11

On the cusp of a highly anticipated national tour, legendary Adelaide heavy hitters The Mark of Cain have detonated another viscerally powerful single from 2012’s impressive fifth studio album Songs of the Third and Fifth.

As is befitting of their louder than bombs musical approach, Grey-11 sees the band touch upon their oft-visited militaristic subject matter and features a special collaboration with none other than alternative rock icon Henry Rollins, a long-time fan and champion of the band. Rollins delivers a measured yet intense vocal performance as the band churn out a solid bedrock of relentless, rolling guitar groove across the battle scarred landscape of the track’s five minute duration. Grey-11 marks another highly impressive addition to themusical canon of this remarkably consistent heavy rock juggernaut.

For those that like their music dense, muscular and sweaty, be sure to get along and catch The Mark of Cain when they obliterate The Zoo, Fortitude Valley on Friday 28th November, and the Coolangatta Hotel on Saturday, 29th November.
