Local Burleigh legend Brodie Green of Seadog Espresso has again upped the ante for Gold Coast small business with a social conscience, with this weekend’s raffle drive going to support welfare corporation Krurungal, a corporation helping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with welfare, housing, and other support services.
Oh, and did we mention there will be free coffee?
That’s right, folks. Over 13 and 14 June, Seadog Espresso will have free coffee on offer to customers, leaving your change available to purchase raffle tickets for thousands of dollars of prizes, also generously donated by local businesses Lahana Swimwear, Cedar & Stone, Blackbird Byron, The Collective and Burleigh Bowls Club.
With all that’s happening in the world, now is the perfect time for consumers and #blacklivesmatter allies to put their money where their mouths are, by supporting businesses and charities that seek to bridge the gap between white Australians and First Nations people wherever possible.
This is not the first time Seadog owner Brodie has supported a cause through his popular hole-in-the-wall enterprise. In 2019, he also donated $750 the Support the Girls charity as a massive clap back to a sexist comment on Instagram. Raising the money over one weekend, he also offered free coffee to all women and drew the support of other local businesses who donated milk and baked goods for him to sell.
All proceeds from this weekend’s raffle will go directly to Krurungal, which has supported its local community in the Gold Coast area for nearly 30 years, so head to Seadog Espresso on James Street, Burleigh this weekend between 6.30am and 1pm for a delicious brew and to offer support for this excellent initiative.
