The mercury has well and truly dropped – and now, so have the timetables for Splendour in the Grass 2015. With just 16 days to go until the defining festival of the season, playing times have been released for all four stages, as well as the schedules for the much beloved Tipi Forest and Splendour In The Craft, the always engaging Forum and side-splitting comedy lineups, the Global Village, AIM Busker stage, C*n’t Stop The Music, Smirnoff Tent (which on the Thursday this year is curated by none other than Elsewhere) and of course the tastemaking Red Bull Music Academy tent.
Tired Lion, winners of the triple j Unearthed competition, will of course open up the Amphitheatre stage, with Sydney chillers Mansionair and Melbourne shredder Harts opening the Mix Up Stage and GW McLennan Tent respectively – and electronic music’s “It” kid Japanese Wallpaper has the honour of being the very first act to play the Tiny Dancer Stage. Closing the festival on Sunday will be Blur (who haven’t pulled out so far but let’s not jinx it), Earl Sweatshirt, Xavier Rudd & The United Nations and Carmada.
We already knew who was playing on what day, but now it’s time to break out your printers and highlighters, co-ordinate your frantic between-stage dashes, bathroom/food/tent breaks, and of course, to get straight onto Facebook to lament whatever inevitable clashes affect you the most (c’mon guys, seriously? Who thought overlapping Peking Duk and Mark Ronson was a good idea?!)
