Craft Expos to have Gold Coast in stitches

Attention all creatives, crafters and hobbyists: Mark 17 to 20 June in your calendars and supercharge your creativity when two massive craft events hit the Gold Coast.

For the first time ever, the epic Stitches and Craft Expo will be hitting the Gold Coast, joined by the Papercraft and Art Expo, also on its first GC outing. A twofer!

Whether you’re a craft novice or a total expert, you’ll find something to inspire and excite you at this craft event collective. Embroidery, quilting, scrapbooking, paperwork and more will be covered across the two events. For sixteen years these expos have run across the country, with passionate Gold Coast crafters making the trip up the M1 for the Brisbane events. Now that they’re headed our way for the first time, Craft Events Organiser Judy Newman says the sunshine state is pretty much set to explode with craft lovers.

“Queenslanders are great attendees of our craft events – and are known to travel long distances to get their craft fix – distance is no barrier!” Judy exclaims. “We expect visitors from far and wide – north of Brisbane and up from northern NSW. Craft appeals to people of all ages and we have a great cross section of crafts at the event.”

Some of the event drawcards include a world premiere of international quilt display ‘Opposites Attract’, mixed media classes and a fantastic array of the latest on-trend workshops such as creating resin jewellery, upcycling, brush lettering, linocut printmaking and card making.

“Visitors will find plenty to inspire them from candlemaking to card making, beads and jewellery; sewing, stamping and scrapbooking; patchwork and papercraft,” says Judy.

“Lots of creative fun to be had – inspiration, education and the opportunity to buy supplies for exciting new projects.”

The Stiches and Craft Expo, and the Papercraft and Art Expo will run from 10am to 4pm, from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 June 2021 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Broadbeach. For all those that love creating, these events are a must. Tickets are limited, particularly for classes, so people are encouraged to get in quick to avoid disappointment.
