Students take centre stage for Hairspray musical

Coomera Anglican College students are bringing Broadway to the Gold Coast as they gear up to take centre stage for their 10th College Musical from 4 – 6 May, 2017.

The enthusiastic cast of budding actors and actresses, complimented by the College’s own talented orchestra, will breathe new life into their production of Hairspray the Musical which will feature vibrant colours, toe-tapping sing alongs and endearing characters. With four performances held over three massive days, the talented cast from the Secondary Campus will take the audience back to the 1960s in an entertaining and inspiring show.

Performance dates and times are as follows:

  • Thursday 4 May – 3pm for 4pm curtain
  • Friday 5 May – 5.45pm for 7pm curtain
  • Saturday 6 May – 12noon for 1pm Matinee
  • Saturday 6 May – 5.45pm for 7pm curtain

Coomera Anglican College’s Musical Director, Kirsty Terry, said the Musical aims to share the gifts and talents of the students and staff with the College and wider community.

“At Coomera Anglican College, we want to inspire and showcase excellence in the Performing Arts,” said Ms Terry.

“We also aim to develop positive and supportive relationships with students across all year levels as we work together towards a common goal while simultaneously sharing our love of performing musical theatre.

“The cast has been rehearsing on Tuesday and Friday afternoons and all day Sunday through Term 1 and every waking minute in the first two weeks of Term 2, until show time.

“My team of dedicated and passionate staff, cast and orchestra members have been working tirelessly to ensure that the 10th College Musical will be a high quality production.”
