The Black Sorrows: Playing the Southport RSL on 19 October

The much loved and respected Black Sorrows are gearing up for a mammoth spring and summer tour of the country. For local fans, the band will hit town on 19 October, playing the Southport RSL.

One of the hardest working and most dynamic bands on the Australian touring circuit, in 2016 the band performed a 60 date run of shows in support of their 18th album, ‘Faithful Satellite’. And in 2014 band leader Joe Camilleri celebrated the remarkable milestone of 50 years in the music business.

In addition to Camilleri, the current line up of the band consists of: Claude Carranza (guitar/vocals), Mark Gray (bass/vocals), John McAll (keyboards/vocals) and Angus Burchall (drums).

With an exuberant mixture of blues, soul, pop, jazz and r&b, the band have a truckload of well loved hits to call upon in the live realm, including ‘Harley and Rose’, ‘Chained To The Wheel’, ‘Shape I’m In’, ‘Hit And Run’ and ‘Never Let Me Go’.

No two shows are ever the same though, and the band aim to please off the back of Camilleri’s simple mantra; “we come to play and leave the audience feeling exhilarated.”

So be sure to make a date of it when The Black Sorrows bring their good time vibes to The Southport RSL on Thursday, 19 October. You can purchase tickets here.
