They’ve been wreaking havoc on venues with their chaotic live shows across the globe for the last 20 years. Blasting their unique sound of unstructured disconnecting riffs that make your head spin on the spot. They’re one of metals finest and most talented acts in its history and now we have been blessed with the announcement of The Dillinger Escape Plans final tour on Australian soil.
This is all in light of their announcement back in August last year, that after the release and tour of their latest album Dissociation, they would be parting ways for good. A video went viral of vocalist Greg Puciato explaining the shocking decision. “We do still really love what we do” He breaks it down into an analogy explaining “If you’re a painter you don’t just paint until you run out of paint”. And wise words at that. They’re stopping while they’re ahead, something a lot of bands don’t do. And probably should.
This is a huge announcement for any Dillinger fan in Australia. They put their heart and souls 1000% into each and every show. A Dillinger show is not just a show, it’s an experience and this upcoming run of final shows promises to be one fans will never forget.
If for some reason you are a Dillinger fan and you have never seen them live before, now is the time. Do not think twice about purchasing a ticket, just prepare yourself for one of the greatest metal shows on the planet as DEP bring their time as a band to a close. It’s going to be otherworldly.
The Dillinger Escape Plan will play Max Watts Brisbane on 22 October.
