Scottish melodic-noise gods The Jesus And Mary Chain are one of the most influential and drop-dead cool acts to have belted out a ruckus over the past 30 odd years.
From their infamous feedback drenched beginnings, masterfully channeled through their debut album ‘Psycho Candy’ (a review of which I still recall fondly, that stated: “some people will love it, others will hate it, and some people will simply wonder what the hell’s wrong with their speakers!”) through to the glorious melancholy of the ‘Darklands’ album and the spiky melodicism of the ‘Head On’ single (covered by The Pixies) and beyond, the brilliance and influence of the band cannot be underestimated.
The brothers Reid, William and Jim, even dropped a new record, the rather excellent ‘Damage And Joy’, just last year.
The band last toured these parts back in 2008. And in March 2019 they’ll be making their long awaited return to Brisbane, ready to once again bring deliverance and salvation to loyal longtime disciples and new converts alike.
So be sure to lock the 8th of March 2019 into your gig itinerary, when the Jesus and Mary Chain bring the noise to The Tivoli in Fortitude Valley as part of their national tour.

“purveyors of a formidable sound that was equally beguiling as it was bewildering”
“JAMC has aged like a fine wine and are worthy of continued adoration. Their laid back coolness has only increased, making them the stuff of legends”
(Inner Edge Music)
“The noise IS the beauty. And it wasn’t Satan I was hearing through that clock-radio speaker. It was something close to God”
