It’s not just our Gold Coast beaches that come alive in summer. From kid’s activities to sailing, fitness programs to art, and the best fireworks views on New Year’s Eve, there are a plethora of fabulous activities to keep minds and bodies entertained throughout December and January. Get Active and Healthy these summer holidays | 15 December to 28 January

Dust off the running shoes, roll out the hula hoop, grab your basketball or skateboard and get excited by the school holidays. The Active & Healthy summer holiday program is happening across the city and provides a huge variety of sport, movement and lifestyle activities in our parks, pools and community centres. Division 9 is hosting a range of activities across Mudgeeraba including Parkrun, water wars, interactive sports, Oztag, touch footy, circus arts, and more! Curious Creatives Children’s Holiday Workshop | 17 December to 18 January

Curious Creatives is a specialised artist-led school holiday program designed for active bodies and enquiring minds. Designed and facilitated by local artist Alicia Jones, curious creatives explore our unique Gold Coast history through contemporary art practice. Set within the lush, hidden gardens of the Gold Coast Historical Society Museum, creativity comes alive through performance, paints and pastels, film/video and enhanced storytelling.  The volunteers of the Gold Coast Historical Society Museum will be on hand to provide specialist knowledge about the collection, including the working settler’s hut and the amazing, ancient littoral rainforest.  Workshops are limited to 10 young artists per day.  Bookings are essential. It’s a hot Havana Night at Skypoint this NYE | 31 December 2018

The Art of Fish comes to One Arts | 2 to 29 January 2019

Artist Andrew Lansley has a passion for the ocean and everything in it; a passion he translates to the canvas in his unique and expressive works, The Art of Fish. You can experience the vibrant energy and bright iridescent colours of Andrew’s show at One Arts gallery in Surfers Paradise from 2 to 29 January 2019. Official opening day will be 12 January.

Southport Yacht Club host the 2017 Gold Coast Marine Family Festival | 5 + 6 January 2019

Southport Yacht Club are hosting the third annual Gold Coast Marine Family Festival and Open Day on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 January 2019. From 9.00am to 5.00pm, the Club will be open to members, guests and visitors, it is going to be an action-packed day full of everything marine related, plus exhibitions, marine demonstrations, face painting, entertainment and much more. There will be plenty of on-water things to see and do as well, with a regatta commencing on the Sunday. The Marina will be open for visitors to view magnificent racing yachts as they prepare to set sail for four days of action-packed racing on the Gold Coast shoreline.
